چکیده

Abstract In this paper, an identical parallel machine scheduling problem with step-deteriorating jobs is considered to minimize the weighted sum of tardiness cost and extra energy consumption cost. particular, actual processing time a job assumed be step function its starting deteriorating threshold. When later than threshold, faces two choices: (1) maintaining status in holding equipment being processed base (2) consuming penalty finish processing. The work patterns need different amounts consumption. To implement energy-efficient scheduling, selection pre-processing must carefully considered. mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model proposed total Decomposition approaches based on logic-based Benders decomposition (LBBD) are developed by reformulating studied into master some independent sub-problems. relaxed only making assignment decisions. sub-problems find optimal schedules job-to-machine assignments given problem. Design of a Hybrid Genetic Algorithm for Parallel Machines Scheduling to Minimize Job Tardiness and Machine Deteriorating Costs with Deteriorating Jobs in a Batched Delivery System

This paper studies the parallel machine scheduling problem subject to machine and job deterioration in a batched delivery system. By the machine deterioration effect, we mean that each machine deteriorates over time, at a different rate. Moreover, job processing times are increasing functions of their starting times and follow a simple linear deterioration. The objective functions are minimizin...

A general variable neighborhood search for single-machine total tardiness scheduling problem with step-deteriorating jobs

In this article, we study a single-machine scheduling problem of minimizing the total tardiness for a set of independent jobs. The processing time of a job is modeled as a step function of its starting time and a specific deteriorating date. A mixed integer programming model was applied to the problem and validated. Since the problem is known to be NP-hard, we proposed a heuristic named simple ...

A Novel B and B Algorithm for a Unrelated Parallel Machine Scheduling Problem to Minimize the Total Weighted Tardiness

This paper presents a scheduling problem with unrelated parallel machines and sequencedependent setup times that minimizes the total weighted tardiness. A new branch-and-bound (B and B) algorithm is designed incorporating the lower and upper bounding schemes and several dominance properties. The lower and upper bounds are derived through an assignment problem and the composite dispatching rule ...

A Framework to Minimize Total Energy Consumption and Total Tardiness on a Single Machine

A great amount of energy is wasted in industry by machines that remain idle due to underutilization. A way to avoid wasting energy and thus reducing the carbon print of an industrial plant is to consider minimization of energy consumption objective while making scheduling decisions. In order to minimize energy consumption, the decision maker has to decide the timing and length of turn off /turn...
